For so many years I had been searching for the best formula on how to live prosperously in a year or for life if that’s what you want. I tried writing New Years Resolutions only to violate them in a day or two. I know, it’s all human effort. As if I am always in control of my life.
I tried positive thinking as our motivational speakers try to prescribe. I works sometimes but not all the time. So I keep on trying. They said there is no harm in trying. But not at all, the more I failed the more I got hurt deep in my heart. With frustrations mounting each day, I tried to compensate myself with alcohol and smoking. I called them my “hiding place.” I tried betting too on numbers game to make money but I have never been lucky. In fact I have been so ashamed of myself for having more failures in life than success.
God intervened. He showed me the way and I followed. I found a peace of mind. I found a how to live prosperously in material as well as spiritual things. Yes I have my failures too and shortcomings but I have now the truth, the words of God to give me the direction if I am down and lost. I live a prosperous and fulfilled life 24/7 by being with the Lord and surrendering myself to His will. I read the Bible to get His message to me and share it too to those who want to hear. I am not rich but I am not lacking too in finances. I live a simple life and I find fulfilment serving the Lord. I serve other people too in need, I volunteer my services for free for those who have no means to seek for medical assistance. Giving is an act of love, it’s one way of glorifying God. Prosperous people are liberal givers. And prosperous people are people with generous heart. Of course giving yourself to others may not be that easy. You have to give heart first to God. You must surrender your life to Him and transform you into a new being.
“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.” Psalm 128: 1-2
